About this game
Splendor is a fast strategic engine-building game about collecting gems, buying development cards, and attracting nobles. It is for players who enjoy tactical drafting, resource planning, and clean competitive play with very little downtime. On each turn, choose gems, reserve a card, or buy a card. Purchased cards give permanent gem discounts, making later cards easier to afford. The first player to reach 15 prestige points triggers the final round, and the highest score wins.
Rules
Players take turns doing one action: Take gem tokens: Take either 3 gems of different colors, or 2 gems of the same color if enough are available. Reserve a card: Take one face-up card or draw blindly from a deck into your reserve. Reserved cards can be bought later. You may hold up to 3 reserved cards. Reserving also grants a gold token if one is available. Buy a development card: Pay the required gems, reduced by bonuses from cards you already own. Purchased cards stay in front of you and may provide prestige points, permanent gem bonuses, or both. Nobles: At the end of your turn, if your purchased card bonuses meet a noble's requirement, you receive that noble. Nobles are worth prestige points. End of game: When a player reaches 15 or more prestige points, finish the current round so all players have taken the same number of turns. The player with the most prestige wins. Ties favor the tied player with fewer purchased development cards.
